Overview of Services

The Biostatistics and Informatics Shared Resource (BISR) and the Multi-Omic Data Analysis Core (MODAC) provide a variety of quantitative and computational services:

• BISR: Biostatistics and Cancer Bioinformatics:
• Experimental design
• Assistance with design, & conduct of clinical trials
• Data analysis
• Statistical review for PRMS, DRC, etc.
• BISR: High performance computing (HPC):
• Access to High Performance Compute Cluster
• Extra direct attached storage (not backed up)
• Assistance with obtaining BCM IT mountable storage

• BISR: REDCAP support:
• Support for project builds and special instrument building

• MODAC: Multi-Omics Data Analysis Core:
• Data analysis for ‘omics core facilities
• Integrative analysis and machine learning

All types of assistance provide consultation, project planning, assistance with grant preparation and related services.

Acknowledging the Biostatistics and Informatics Shared Resource and Multi-Omics Data Analysis Core in publications

Institutional leaders and granting agencies expect that larger and more complex projects, especially projects with funding, will cover costs for biostatistics, bioinformatics, informatics  and high performance computing. This is usually managed either through line item inclusion on the grant (shown in iLab OS for tracking purposes as 'not billable'), or through service-related charge-back which is billed through iLab OS.

In any publications, please be sure to credit ALL grants supporting the completed research, including the cancer center support grant (CA125123), which subsidizes all cancer-related services provided by this Shared Resource, regardless of other funding sources. Please check with a BISR, MODAC or QSSR representative if you have questions.

Use the following text to acknowledge the Biostatistics and Informatics Shared Resource and/or the Multi-Omic Data Analysis Core in publications

For non-cancer related work:

"Biostatistics and Informatics Shared Resource services from the Baylor College of Medicine BISR ATC were underwritten by institutional funds from the Baylor College of Medicine."

"Multi-Omic and Data Analysis Core services from the Baylor College of Medicine MODAC ATC were underwritten by institutional funds from the Baylor College of Medicine."

For cancer related work:
