CAMRI

Overview of Services

The Center for Advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (CAMRI) is a state-of-the-art resource for the Houston research community that makes possible advanced imaging studies of the function, physiology, and anatomy of animals and humans.  The center houses three cutting-edge imaging systems:

  • Two Siemens Magnetom PRISMA Fit (3T) with up to 64 Channel capabilities

Our systems are equipped for advanced high-resolution structural imaging, diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), functional MRI, Arterial Spin Labeling (ASL), and single and multi-voxel magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS).  They also contain auditory, visual, and gustatory stimulation systems.

We can assist with the following:

  • Fee for service center (bill for hourly usage of scanner, technologist fees, technical fees)
  • Online (web) scheduling system for independent users for scanners and conference rooms.
  • Access to the instruments (MRI Scanners) for fully trained users is available 24/7, facilitating subject recruitment and retention
  • An imaging technologist is available to assist in data collection for 15% of the scan charge.
  • Physicist Support: Includes consultation and protocol development time, data management, and general collaborations on MRI projects
  • Operator training is available to enable the safe use of MRI equipment by new users
  • Monthly invoicing
